published September 9, 2010 by Brad Schmitt

Rascal Flatts

does lots of public service, and fans in Nashville know the mega-stars have pumped almost $3 million into a children’s hospital here.

The group’s latest effort is a public service announcement for World Suicide Prevention Day tomorrow (Sept. 10).

In the 30-second spot, the group's Jay DeMarcus says, “We were shocked to find out that suicide is the third leading cause of death for young people.”

The group goes on to urge fans to be aware of signs that friends might be hurting.

There’s more info on how to do that at a website Rascal Flatts has set up with an organization called The Jason Foundation, at rascalflattsb1.com.
